Does Legacy Key store my seed phrases or private keys?
Absolutely not. We only store metadata about your wallets and backup locations - never the actual seeds or private keys. Your seeds should never be entered into any online system. We help you document WHERE your seeds are stored, not WHAT they are.
What is zero-knowledge encryption?
Legacy Key uses zero-knowledge encryption. Your data is encrypted in your browser before it reaches our servers. We literally cannot see your data, even if we wanted to. Your password derives the encryption key locally — we never receive it.
What happens if I lose my password?
You have a Recovery Key (format: LK-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX) generated locally in your browser. It is the only way to restore your encrypted data if you forget your password. Trusted contacts with inheritance access can recover your data after the inactivity period.
